Description
The Network and Cisco Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, support, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure across branches and franchise locations. The role ensures stable connectivity, secure communications, and optimal performance of LAN/WAN, SDWAN, voice, and wireless networks. It includes hands-on support for Cisco-based environments, troubleshooting network issues, and maintaining accurate network documentation in a fast-paced, multi-site enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation of ISP circuits at branches and franchise sites
- Install and configure network equipment, switches, routers, and cabling
- Manage network infrastructure during office moves and site relocations
- Maintain and update network inventory across regions
- Update and maintain Visio network diagrams and site documentation
- Maintain network rooms, cabling infrastructure, and site layouts
- Install and support SDWAN solutions (Viptela and Meraki)
- Configure switches for VoIP telephony and test with vendors
- Support enterprise Wi-Fi networks across all sites
- Install and support Microsoft Teams Telephony and Amazon Connect
- Support video conferencing systems at head office locations
- Oversee installation and support of telephony systems across branches
- Provide end-user and infrastructure support via Remedy ticketing system
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents and service requests
- Support users with 3G (APN) and VPN connectivity issues
- Escalate unresolved issues to vendors and manage end-to-end resolution
- Maintain accurate logs of incidents, resolutions, and system changes
- Ensure adherence to external supplier escalation processes
- Provide clear communication and updates to users and management
- Transfer technical knowledge to users and team members
- Support network documentation and compliance requirements
- Participate in continuous network monitoring, maintenance, and optimisation activities
- Contribute to improvements in network performance and reliability
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure outages
- Maintain compliance with network policies and operational standards
RequirementsQualifications / Certifications Requirements
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) with 2 years’ experience
- Currently working towards Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Technical Expectations Requirements
- Installation and configuration of routers, switches, and load balancers
- Troubleshooting and monitoring of network infrastructure performance and outages
- Network documentation and policy management for compliance
- Research and implementation of network optimisation improvements
- Maintenance and security patching of network infrastructure
- Support of cloud and edge networks, mobile networks, LAN, WAN, and SDN environments
