My client based in Cape Town is currently looking for an Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant 3-year tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in software development within enterprise environments
- Strong experience in:
- Oracle Forms
- Oracle PL/SQL
- XML, SOAP, WCF, RESTful APIs
- HTML5, Angular, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, PHP
- Database development and Message Queues
- Azure DevOps, GIT, and AWS Web Services
- Solid relational database management systems (RDBMS) experience including Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Exposure to MS SQL Server and MySQL would be advantageous
- Experience working within Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps environments
- FinTech industry experience advantageous
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, optimise, and maintain complex software systems
- Experience mentoring junior developers and contributing to technical leadership initiatives
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain high-quality software solutions aligned to business requirements
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and system issues effectively
- Optimise existing applications and codebases for improved performance, scalability, and reliability
- Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to architecture decisions
- Develop and maintain integrations using APIs, web services, and messaging technologies
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and secure development principles
- Conduct unit testing and support test automation initiatives
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA teams, and IT Operations to deliver successful solutions
- Document technical specifications, development processes, and system enhancements
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
- Mentor and support junior developers through knowledge sharing and technical guidance
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technology innovation within the team
