An established organisation within the financial services sector is looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join its technology team on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Sandton, offering the chance to work on enterprise-scale applications that support critical business operations.
You will play a key role in the full software development lifecycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions while contributing to technical excellence across the development team.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications.
– Build scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business solutions.
– Develop clean, secure, and maintainable code following best practices.
– Troubleshoot, optimise, and support production applications.
– Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design.
– Mentor junior developers and promote engineering excellence.
– Ensure solutions are delivered in line with Agile and SDLC methodologies.

Education
– Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Informatics, or a related field.
Experience
– Minimum 10 years’ commercial Java development experience.
– Enterprise application development experience.
– Banking or financial services experience is advantageous.
– System Design experience is beneficial.
