Senior Technical Specialist – IBM Content Services Platforms

About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Technical Specialist to join a dynamic technology team responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise IBM Content Services platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure specialist with strong Linux, enterprise systems, database, and security expertise who enjoys working in a complex, mission-critical environment.
You will be responsible for the implementation, administration, optimization, and ongoing support of IBM Content Services platforms, ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and
performance across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Administration
- Install, configure and maintain IBM Content Services environments across Development, Test, Pre-Production and Production.
- Perform platform upgrades, patching and lifecycle management.
- Manage system capacity, storage and data growth.
- Maintain platform architecture aligned with enterprise standards.
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery readiness and failover capability.
Infrastructure & Systems
- Administer and support Linux server environments.
- Manage on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Monitor and optimise server performance, scalability and availability.
Database Administration
- Support and maintain SQL Server environments.
- Work with IBM DB2/UDB databases where applicable.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security controls, authentication and access management.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and support security compliance initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to organisational security standards and best practices.
Configuration & Integration
- Configure and support IBM Content Manager, Content Manager OnDemand, Content Navigator and Aspera platforms.
- Develop and maintain scripts, integrations and automation where required.
- Support API integrations and enterprise application connectivity.
Monitoring & Support
- Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions.
- Perform proactive health checks and performance tuning.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis and incident resolution.
- Maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- AWS and/or Linux Administration certifications will be advantageous.
Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Senior Technical Specialist or Enterprise Systems Support role.
- Strong Linux Server administration experience.
- SQL Server database knowledge.
- Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and application platforms.
- Strong understanding of system security and access management.
- Experience deploying and configuring enterprise applications.
- Exposure to IBM Content Services platforms will be highly advantageous.
