About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Technical Support Technician to start a career in telecommunications and technology.
The successful candidate will be permanently based at a retirement estate, providing first-line technical support to residents.
A 6-month paid training and evaluation programme will provide practical, hands-on training before permanent appointment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid South African Driver’s Licence or currently working towards obtaining one
- Good communication skills in Afrikaans and English
- Friendly, professional and well-presented
- Strong willingness to learn
- Comfortable working with technology
- Able to work independently and take ownership
- Physically fit and comfortable working indoors and outdoors
Key Responsibilities
- First-line Fibre (FTTH) fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Wi-Fi and router setup and support
- Register new Fibre customers and assist with activations
- Handle and escalate Level 1 technical support tickets
- Preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting of security/CCTV systems
- First-line DSTV support and installations
- Basic troubleshooting of electricity and water smart metering systems
- Maintain service records and maintenance reports
- Provide professional and friendly customer service
- Represent the company professionally on-site
Advantageous Experience
Experience or knowledge in:

- CCTV & security systems
- DSTV installations
- Electrical / electronic troubleshooting
- Smart utility metering
