My client based in Cape Town, Bellville is currently looking for a .NET Developer to join their team on a contract basis.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain scalable enterprise applications using C#, .NET and related Microsoft technologies.
Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end applications using [URL Removed] JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
Build reusable, maintainable and high-performance software components and services.
Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices and system integrations.
Manage database development, design, optimisation and performance using Microsoft SQL Server.
Develop, deploy and support cloud-based applications hosted on AWS and/or Azure.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and DevOps practices.
Monitor application performance, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure system reliability, security and scalability.
Participate in architectural reviews, technical planning and solution design discussions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders and other developers to deliver effective digital solutions.
Mentor junior developers, promote coding standards and encourage best practices in software development.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical innovation and the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

Relevant degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in software development, with strong expertise in C# and the .NET technology stack.
Proven experience developing applications using .NET Core/.NET 8, ASP.NET MVC, Web API and Entity Framework.
Strong experience with [URL Removed] JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices and scalable enterprise applications.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, database design and optimisation.
Experience working with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Experience with Docker and containerisation; Kubernetes experience would be advantageous.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Previous experience mentoring developers and contributing to technical architecture and solution design will be advantageous.
