Oracle has released an upgrade to Java SE 7 that addresses some of the security concerns aired last week. An advisory on the company’s Web site urges users to download the Java SE 7u11 upgrade.
“This release includes important security fixes,” it reads. “Oracle strongly recommends that all Java SE 7 users upgrade to this release.”
According to Oracle’s security blog, the new upgrade fixes two of the vulnerabilities in Java 7. In addition, it also switches Java’s security settings to “high”, to make it more difficult for malware to run.
The vulnerabilities were only discovered last week, when the US Department of Homeland Security’s Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT) advised users to disable Java in their Web browsers.
