Value-added distributor Westcon SA’s security division’s vendor partner Kaspersky Lab has been ranked as a leader in the market of endpoint security solutions by Forrester Research.
According to Westcon Security’s Andrew Potgieter, Kaspersky Lab’s corporate solution was placed among four “Leaders” in the The Forrester Wave: Endpoint Security, Q1 2013.
As per the report, Forrester selected nine top providers in the endpoint protection market based on several criteria: sizable base of enterprise customers (not less than 1 500 enterprise customers); broad endpoint security portfolio (including anti-malware, host-based firewall/IPS, application control, device control, patch management, and integrated management spanning these functions); convergence strategies for endpoint security; and management.
“While competition was steep, Kaspersky was placed among four market leaders as a result of what Forrester termed as significant improvements in its enterprise support features. The report also highlighted extensive security strength and attractive pricing of KES as reasons for its ranking,” states Potgieter.
According to Kaspersky, recent research shows that half of all CEOs and CIOs consider cyber-threats to be the top business risk of all, it’s clear that choices made with regard to security software are vital for business.
The ratings by Forrester Wave serve as a mechanism by which managers can benchmark solutions against each other and ensure that they select only products that will ensure the security welfare of their companies.
Kaspersky Lab has a broad range of corporate clients – over 250 000 companies worldwide, ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to large commercial and government organisations. The company’s corporate solutions meet all the key demands placed on information security systems for businesses and state organisations.
