Fujitsu has announced a certified, ready-to-run virtualised appliance for the SAP HANA platform for test and development use. The fully virtualised Fujitsu Power Appliance enables more rapid development and testing for implementations of SAP HANA, allowing companies to create true business value through faster deployment of the best-performing set-ups.
With its new appliance, Fujitsu helps enterprises answer the critical question of “how can SAP HANA create most value for me?” The answer is that thanks to a complete environment for the simultaneous testing of multiple virtualised configurations, the pre-configured Fujitsu Power Appliance for SAP HANA accelerates test scenarios and reduces time to market by running multiple configurations side-by-side.
Full virtualisation for in-memory environments running SAP HANA means that businesses can more cost-effectively run multiple projects at the same time, making greater use of the technology without continually needing to justify the cost of additional hardware resources to test every new and experimental project.
Following SAP’s expanded strategic collaboration with VMware, Fujitsu will market an appliance which provides a complete test and development environment using VMware vSphere based on a Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX600 S6 industry-standard rack server.
The virtualised appliance is the latest Fujitsu offering designed with the needs of the SAP community in mind, with approximately 100 projects worldwide already implemented on Fujitsu Power Appliance for SAP HANA.
“Particularly in challenging R&D environments, organisations are excited about the power of actionable analytics from in-memory computing to transform their business,” says Dr Joseph Reger, chief technology officer at Fujitsu Technology Solutions.
“Fujitsu’s new Virtualised Power Appliance for SAP HANA will streamline the test and evaluation process for implementations of SAP HANA, and underlines our commitment to accelerate and simplify the process of deploying this innovative platform.”
“For over 10 years, VMware and Fujitsu have shown leadership in designing solutions that help organisations to lower costs, increase business agility, and ensure freedom of choice,” SAYS Ray Blanchard, senior director, Strategic ISV Alliances at VMware.
“The virtualised Fujitsu Power Appliance for SAP HANA – including VMware vSphere, vCenter and Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX600 S6 servers – is a breakthrough in supporting SAP’s innovative in-memory technology with flexible, streamlined and cost-efficient infrastructures.”
