Kaseya, the only vendor to provide a complete IT systems management (ITSM) SaaS solution, along with an on-premises solution, has announced that UK charity and housing association, Framework Housing, is using the Kaseya ITSM solution to ensure best practice IT management for its 600 users across 48 sites.
Based in Nottingham with just a five-person IT team responsible for supporting an extensive network of office-based, mobile and remote workers, the charity was in need of a responsive ITSM platform that could help the team manage and deploy devices across the network, at anytime, from anywhere.
Following a recent expansion of the organisation’s services, Framework Housing’s IT team found that its existing ITSM package, Microsoft Systems Essential, was unable to handle the increased workload.
After a vendor evaluation process, the charity selected the Kaseya hosted platform due to its ease-of-use and customisable nature. The IT team can now securely access Framework Housing’s network from any location with an Internet connection, affording them full visibility of all company-issued devices on the network and the means to provide IT support to users remotely.
“In many ways, we had outgrown our existing provider and the processes were feeling clunky and outdated,” explains Simon Kane, IT manager at Framework Housing.
“With Kaseya up and running in next-to-no-time, we can now deploy and manage software to devices quickly and simply, from any location. For instance, remotely taking control of users’ devices is now a seamless task, enabling us to solve issues regardless of where the employee may be working at that time. Kaseya is already saving both our users and the IT team a huge amount of hassle.”
Previously limited to working in a break/fix manner, technicians often had to travel long distances to diagnose and fix users’ IT problems – a particular challenge when it came to the organisation’s 200 “floating support” workers who are out in the field with Netbooks and similar devices.
With Kaseya, Framework Housing now has policies in place that allow the IT team to remotely deploy a standard build of software – such as patches and updates – to each device connected to its network.
The Kaseya Discovery module and event log management capabilities also ensure that no device is out of sync, alerting the team to any new devices found on the network or those that may not have downloaded the latest patch.
“The ease-of-use Kaseya gives us as IT technicians is unrivalled. Within a few days of having Kaseya installed, our lives were so much easier,” continues Kane.
“We now have so many more options that allow us to customise the platform to meet our requirements as an organisation, right down to specifying what packages or patches we want to apply to specific devices or groups of users. With stacks of new reporting capabilities and event log management options, we ultimately have a better overview and tighter control of our network. I wish we had moved to Kaseya a year ago.”
Recently updated to the 6.3 framework, the Kaseya ITSM platform empowers IT professionals to manage their organisations’ IT estate from a single pane of glass interface.
This scalable and flexible IT automation solution offers extended service capabilities with optional configurations that help IT teams meet day-to-day service requirements – from efficiency through to security and availability – while also driving overall business IT objectives and strategies.
“Many organisations long to have the tools to operate beyond a break/fix manner, allowing IT teams to be more strategic and visionary with their IT processes,” says Bob Davis, chief marketing officer at Kaseya.
“Under pressure to manage more agile and less expensive IT infrastructures in this day and age, Kaseya is helping organisations, like Framework Housing, to reap the benefits of cloud-based IT services. When it comes to managing growing sets of users and their ever-changing requirements, working smarter not harder is the future.”
