Bytes Systems Integration has launched a new performance management module for its SAMRAS enterprise resource planning (ERP) system for municipalities. SAMRAS Performance Management is designed to integrate with any ERP, offers an easy-to-use interface and is easily customised to suit a particular municipality’s needs.
“Municipalities are under pressure like never before to deliver, as we can see from National Treasury’s current emphasis on performance management,” says Brian Brougham-Cook, GM: SAMRAS at Bytes Systems Integration.
“This module is designed to give municipal managers a single tool through which to manage performance against their service delivery and budget implementation plans over the course of the financial year.”
SAMRAS Performance Management allows municipal managers to identify key performance areas, associating each one with key performance indicators and then the multiple tasks needed to implement. Where performance areas are linked with budget line items, SAMRAS Performance Management links back to the budget in whatever ERP system is currently being used.
The module also enables easy quarterly performance reporting to management committees, National Treasury and other bodies as required.
“Our aim was to create a tool that is intuitive to use and really allows managers to manage their performance, measure it back to the budget and also manage the plethora of tasks that each key performance area generates,” says Brougham-Cook.
“We have already rolled out SAMRAS Performance Management to municipalities in Ladysmith and the Cape Winelands, with several more to come – a hopeful indication that municipalities are gearing up to improve performance and thus service delivery.”
