Both Telkom Mobile and MTN have announced new data rates.
MTN has introduced new MTN Anytime Contract packages, which now offer contract customers more talk time through a combination of more anytime value and free MTN-to-MTN minutes, more text time through increased SMS bundles and more Web browsing time with bigger Internet bundles.
The new MTN Anytime contract packages form part of the mobile brand’s move to provide more value, to its customers as well as to offer convenience in the form of more all-inclusive Anytime Value, SMSes and data.
“MTN is not only focused on providing customers with the latest cutting edge mobile devices, but is also focused on designing innovative packages that address our customers’ evolving needs,” says Serame Taukobong, chief marketing officer at MTN SA.
“One of these needs is to have their voice, data and SMS communication conveniently packaged into one contract package. Thus, we have introduced the new Anytime contract packages to ensure that our customers enjoy convenient connectivity on MTN’s World-Class Network.”
The new contract packages are open to both new and existing MTN customers who are eligible for an upgrade. Existing MTN contract customers can migrate to any of the new Anytime packages from their current package without extending the length of their contract or having to take a new contract to enjoy the benefits of the new Anytime contract packages.
Telkom Mobile’s new SmartInternet and SmartInternet Saver post-paid data plans will be available from 21 April 2013. Consumers can opt for a bundled offer that includes a device or for a SIM only option which can be used with their own device.
The plans come with an allocation of Telkom Mobile data, Telkom Mobile Night-Surfer data, LTE speeds in LTE coverage areas and access to free WiFi at Telkom Mobile hot spots around the country.
“Owning the widest spectrum of radio frequencies allows Telkom Mobile to have the largest network capacity in the country. The extensive spectrum uniquely positions Telkom Mobile to offer large data bundles for high data users,” says Attila Vitai, MD of Telkom Mobile.
He adds that the company’s network build enables data packages that offer better quality connections and less congestion. “The company’s growing 3G, all-IP network provides consistent, high quality services that users demand.
“We have also extended our successful data promotions. The prepaid promotions have proved popular with those who want great control over their data use,” says Vitai.
These include the 60Gb + 60Gb, 10Gb + 10Gb (post-paid) and 2Gb + 1Gb data bundles.
Customers will also be able to buy once-off or recurring Internet data bundles for use on Telkom Mobile or all mobile networks.
