Following a major management clean out of all its major African operations, including its South African office, NetApp has announced its new regional director for Africa to replace Mike Styer.

Mark Ridley, who was formerly responsible for all of Dell’s business throughout Africa, took up the position of NetApp regional director for Africa on Monday.

“Mark will be responsible for driving our business across Africa to new heights,” says Konstantin Ebert, NetApp’s area director for Middle East, Eastern Europe & Africa.

“Africa reflects a big opportunity for NetApp and after having gone through a lot of change we are set to capitalise on it.”

Styer was but one of the casualties at NetApp’s local office. Other staff within marketing and its channel operations are also believed to have been chopped. No details on these replacements have yet been released.
