MTN’s group chief financial officer (CFO) Nazir Patel has resigned with immediate effect.
The reason for his resignation, according to Patel, is that he does not wish his continued employment to prejudice MTN regarding allegations made against him, which are subject to an ongoing investigation commissioned by the company.
Brett Goschen has been appointed as group CFO and executive financial director on the board, with immediate effect.
Goschen joined the Group as CFO of MTN Nigeria in 2002. He was appointed CEO of MTN Ghana in 2006 and returned to MTN Nigeria as CEO in 2011.
