According to preliminary data from International Data Corporation (IDC), worldwide shipment sales continue to set a rapid sales pace, growing 142,4% year over year in the first quarter of 2013.
Tablet shipments totalled 49,2-million units in the first quarter of 2013, surpassing that of the entire first half of 2012. With analysts believing that this growth is being pushed by a market demand for smaller screen devices, the growth in tablet sales seems “unstoppable”, Riley says.
