IndigoCube has entered into a partnership with Polteq to offer its innovative training programmes in software testing to the local market. Polteq is a leading software testing company based in the Netherlands and Belgium.
“The quality of a company’s software is now a vital success factor, a fact that has put software testing into the spotlight. The problem is that most training on software testing is very academic, and trainees remain ill equipped to apply what they learned in the workplace,” says Aldo Rall, principal consultant at IndigoCube. “Having identified this gap in the market, we went looking for the solution, and found it in Polteq’s offering.”
Rall explains that Polteq’s training is uniquely pragmatic, meaning that people who undergo it are genuinely equipped to apply what they have learned to their work. Its suite of courses includes training in the TMapNEXT software testing framework and methodology.
Amongst the suite of courses, the offering will also allow students to obtain two internationally recognised certifications in TMapNEXT. The methodology is based on a structured approach to software testing that seeks to align the activities of the software testing team with the objectives of the business.
TMapNEXT’s business-driven test management approach is revolutionising software testing by creating this alignment, given business’s dependence on the software. Other complementary courses will complete the offering.
As a company, Polteq has a tremendous pedigree in software testing with considerable intellectual property in this area. For example, two of its senior test architects, Martin Pol and Ruud Teunissen, are pioneers in structured testing in Europe and are prominent speakers, authors and trainers internationally. The company invests significantly in R&D to ensure its solutions remain at the forefront of developments in IT.
“Polteq’s training suites certifies software testers to use the principles they have been taught to make this revolution in software testing real, and deliver the benefits to the business,” Rall comments. “This is an approach that the South African market has lacked, and we are very pleased to have a partner of this calibre to help plug the gap.”
IndigoCube will be offering the Polteq training at its facilities in Johannesburg.
