Advanced solutions from IsoMetrix are at the core of health, safety and risk management during the development of Wesizwe’s Bakubung Platinum Mine.
Bakubung Platinum Mine, situated in the North West Province of South Africa, is scheduled to commence production in the last quarter of 2018. The first blasting of the ventilation shaft took place in July 2012.
Wesizwe is using IsoMetrix solutions for Health, Safety and Environment Management; Occupational Health Management (medical surveillance); Occupational Hygiene Monitoring; and Compliance and Risk Management during the
construction of the mine.
IsoMetrix, a leading supplier of software for Governance, Risk and Compliance, provides a comprehensive social management solution that includes resettlement and compensation, social investment, local content and social sustainability.
“Mining companies have an onerous task when it comes to compliance and managing health, safety and risks, even before mines are commissioned. Our systems will help automate and streamline procedures to smooth the navigation of the compliance and risk landscape.
“It is always exciting to get in at the ground level of a project. Bakubung will start production in 2018 and should reach full production in 2021, two years ahead of forecast. We are sure that our relationship with Bakubung and Wesizwe will develop over the years and extend to encompass GRC in its entirety,” Paul Marketos, Sales Director at IsoMetrix.
Wesizwe will use the standard templates provided by IsoMetrix and will be able to import their existing risk register. IsoMetrix offers an integrated solution for Governance Risk and Compliance, and can be extended in future to include areas such as Sustainability Management and Performance Management.
