Fujitsu has mades in-store retail more adaptable and responsive, while optimising Point of Sale (PoS) economics at any scale, with the introduction of the TeamPoS 7000 S-Series modular controller.

Designed to address the challenges of retailing in a hyperconnected world, its ultra-small modular-PC form factor is simple and cost-effective to order, install, manage – especially at scale – and to run in even the most constrained of PoS, kiosk or self-checkout environments.

Future-proof processing power that scales across the organisation is also assured, as the TeamPoS 7000 S-Series incorporates Intel 4th generation processors from Celeron to Core i5 vPro.1 The latest Active Management Technology (AMT) further reduces cost of ownership and helps to increase availability.

The hyperconnected world is the foundation of modern retail, one where empowered customers have high expectations and can easily take their custom elsewhere should stores fail to meet them. Retailers invest millions of dollars every year to ensure their customers receive a consistently good in-store experience.

That’s why the TeamPoS 7000 S-Series leaves maximum counter space available for selling, branding and display material or other necessary equipment. The controller can be hidden away under the counter, placed either vertically or horizontally as suits existing furniture. No specialized furniture is required, leading to cost and rollout time savings.

Retailers, especially those in Europe, also benefit from the fact that the TeamPoS 7000 S-Series is produced as an integral part of the mass-production of Fujitsu PCs at the company’s state-of-the-art automated factory in Augsburg. In addition to the resulting ‘Made in Germany’ engineering quality, distribution costs and delivery time can be minimised. Bulk packaging is also an option to reduce carbon footprint.

To further reduce installation costs, lower energy consumption and cooling costs, and improve reliability, enhanced retail connectivity enables operation from a single power outlet, removing the need for external power bricks across different TeamPoS 7000 family members, including cash drawer or display. In addition, the new ‘90% efficiency’ integrated power supply lowers heat output to reduce the carbon footprint, while patented power management controls processing power during peak peripheral demand.

Complementing Fujitsu’s end-to-end portfolio of globally-available Connected Retail offerings, the TeamPoS 7000 S-Series represents the natural evolution of the TeamPoS family. Also introduced today, Fujitsu’s D75 projected Capacitive Touchscreen Display is a complementary peripheral for the new controller. Both will be on show at Fujitsu Forum in Munich on November 19-20, 2014, and at NRF in New York on January 11-13, 2015.

“We are very excited that the Fujitsu TeamPoS 7000 S-Series includes Intel 4th generation processors. We believe Intel-based retail solutions deliver the best customer experience, a secure platform and help to meet business goals such as increased availability and lower total cost of ownership,” says Alec Gefrides, director of Retail Product Marketing, Intel.

“With the TeamPoS 7000 S-Series, Fujitsu is again delivering innovative retail solutions that ultimately enable a differentiated customer experience. In a hyperconnected world, store owners can remain adaptable and responsive to changing opportunities, confident that Fujitsu delivers future-proof solutions that support this aim,” says Geoff Chaplin, Retail PoS Hardware solutions director, Fujitsu.
