Tintri, the producer of smart storage for virtualisation and cloud environments, has announced support for Microsoft Hyper-V, available this week for all Tintri VMstore storage appliances running Tintri OS 3.1 or greater.
Tintri now supports all three major hypervisor environments—VMware vSphere, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualisation and Microsoft Hyper-V.
Tintri VMstore storage is designed specifically for virtualised environments and private cloud deployments. Customers have deployed hundreds of thousands of VMs running Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SharePoint, SAP and many other business critical applications, databases and virtual desktop infrastructure environments. Many of these organisations have already incorporated multi-hypervisor usage into their environment. Market research firm IDC’s recent survey1 of 202 companies worldwide with 1,000 or more employees reports that 59% of respondents were using more than one hypervisor.
Tintri VMstore systems natively support Microsoft’s Server Message Block (SMB) 3.0 protocol and integrate with Microsoft Hyper-V Manager and System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM). Tintri VMstore for Microsoft Hyper-V environments offers the following benefits:
