Dimension Data has been announced as the leading IT services provider, in South Africa in 2013 by the International Data Corporation (IDC).
The report, South Africa IT Services Market 2014-2018 Forecast and 2013 Analysis (IDC #ZS04W), provides a detailed overview of IT services spending trends and forecasts for 13 foundation markets and 18 vertical markets in South Africa. Results are based on analysing continuous research of both IT services supply and demand through surveys, technology assessments, country demographics, and economic data.
Baxolile Mabinya, strategy executive at Dimension Data Middle East and Africa, says: “We are extremely honoured by the recognition. This gives us the momentum to work even harder to deliver on our strategy and retain our position, as we continue to strive to deliver business value to our clients.”
According to the research, the IT services market in South Africa is expected to grow 10,5% year-on-year in 2015 to reach $5,7-billion. The Systems Integration category accounted for the largest share of IT services revenue, at 14,1%.
“IT initiatives in 2015 will not only continue to focus on technologies that enable continuous improvement and optimisation, but also deliver value to the business,” says Lise Hagen, IDC’s research manager for software and IT services in Africa. “New investments in IT will focus on technologies that can demonstrate cost efficiencies, such as automation, cloud, and SaaS.
CIOs and IT decision makers are increasingly coming under pressure to cut costs and deliver services based on highly efficient IT processes that align with business objectives, while simultaneously supporting and sustaining business growth. For their part, providers need to help demonstrate that IT is not just a cost centre, but a fundamental part of the business that can drive revenue and value as well as reduce costs.”
