Samsung Electronics is proud to announce that it has received the coveted Monochrome Printer/MFP (Multi-function Printers) Line of the Year Award for the second consecutive year, along with five awards for Outstanding Achievement at the 2015 Buyers Laboratory (BLI) Winter Awards.
BLI is the world’s leading independent evaluator of document imaging hardware and software. Bestowed twice a year by the editors of BLI, the awards honour the top-performing solutions assessed in BLI’s lab during the previous six months.
“Samsung has been working relentlessly to develop printing solutions that not only increase productivity and efficiency, but are also cost effective for our consumers,” says Mike van Lier, divisional head for the Enterprise Business Division (EBD) at Samsung Electronics South Africa. “We are delighted and honoured that BLI has recognised our efforts in creating innovative products that will meet and exceed the high expectations of our consumers and enterprise customers.”
The monochrome printers and MFPs were recognised for their superior performance, energy-efficiency, eco-friendliness and ease-of-use.
In the Small to Mid-Size Workgroups category, the MultiXpress M5370LX received the award for “Outstanding A4 Monochrome MFP for Large Workgroups.”
BLI praised the model’s touchscreen interface, strong performance and cost-efficiency. “One of the first MFPs on the market to do so, the MX5370 leverages Samsung’s tablet technology for the control panel to create a highly customisable, flexible device,” says BLI senior analyst for Printers/A4 MFPs Marlene Orr. “Add in superior performance and low cost of ownership for mid to high-volume users and you’ve got a winner.”
Built for the enterprise market, the MultiXpress X4300 was awarded the “Outstanding 21 to 30ppm A3 colour MFP” award.
“Not only did the Samsung MultiXpress X4300LX demonstrate excellent reliability over the course of its 120 000-impression test, it also offers colour print quality that is superior to that of many competitors,” says George Mikolay, BLI’s senior product editor for A3 Copiers/MFPs. Further to this, for those environments which output primarily in black and white, the device earned high marks across the board in both print and copy modes.”
Samsung’s laser monochrome MFP, the Xpress M2885FW, received an award for “Outstanding Achievement in Energy Efficiency,” demonstrating Samsung’s continuous efforts in developing innovative products that are powerful yet also cost-efficient. This model provides further benefits to consumers by reducing annual energy consumption with a range of energy-saving features.
“An annual energy consumption rate of 48% – that is almost half the average – is a rarity for products we test here at BLI,” says Lisa Reider, senior product editor, Scanners and Environmental at Buyers Laboratory. “Samsung is no stranger to energy-efficient devices, having earned five BLI energy efficiency awards in previous test seasons. The Xpress M2885FW serves as another excellent example of Samsung’s environmental strategy.”
“Receiving these global recognitions inspires us to continue to focus on developing printer solutions that seamlessly fit into the IT and office ecosystem which are ecologically sound as well as high-performing,” concludes van Lier.
