Digital Action Printers in Cape Town has deployed a Ricoh Pro C751 Ex with long sheet option that replaces existing equipment reaching end of life and enables the business to produce larger covers.

The business plans to acquire a second Pro C751 in the near future for flexibility, which helps reduce turnaround times, and increased productivity.

“We specialise in short run, quick turnaround book, brochure, business card, flyer, folders, rate card, labels and similar printing,” says Bernd Schuttler, who owns Digital Action Printers. “We do all printing, finishing and binding in-house so there are no outside suppliers, which is one of the ways we achieve our rapid turnaround times.”

Digital Action Print also operates litho presses for longer runs and colour-critical work where pantone matching is required. The full lineup includes three black and white digital presses, two full colour digital presses and two colour litho presses.

“They’re currently producing around 80 000 clicks per month on the new C751 with a view to expanding volumes,” says Donovan Tose, production print specialist at Ricoh SA. “The machine is capable of running up to 180 000 pages per month and it features a maximum 350 000-page duty cycle. It also handles the variety of media from papers to synthetic materials and coated stocks so it’s more than capable of producing direct mail, packaging, photo books, labels and more.”

Digital Action Printers’ clients have praised it for its speed and quality capabilities. “Digital Action is the best printer in the Western Cape. For service, price, and reliability they cannot be beaten. I would recommend them to anyone requiring fast, accurate, and cost effective printing solutions,” says Michael Riches, production coordinator at publishing business, Juta & Company.
