Africans in line for Intel prize
With attention this week on the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Pennsylvania, 37 of Africa’s brightest minds will contend for the $75 000 prize. Representing the continent are students from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Egypt. ISEF runs from 10 to 15 May and will see 1 700 students from around the world showcasing the best innovations in science and engineering across 20 categories.
African innovators head for Singapore
Innotribe Startup Challenge attendees have selected the five finalists from the African leg of the Startup Challenge to compete at Sibos Singapore in October. The showcase was held at The Westin Hotel on 6 May, in partnership with SWIFT’s African Regional Conference (ARC). The next steps of the Startup Challenge programme will be the regional showcases in Singapore on 28 May, and New York on 18 June.
